Book of life

During my role as a dancer in "Book of Life," I learned to master both jazz and contemporary styles while gracefully donning skirts inspired by Mexican folklore. The physical transformation of my character and makeup was equally captivating, as I transitioned from an elderly figure to a mournful persona and eventually to a calavera, using a white paint gun, a brush with a vibrant palette to bring out the colorful details of the Catrina, in less than 3 minutes. Rapid costume changes became second nature as I seamlessly transitioned between dance sequences, including a captivating performance with balls, representing traditional Mexican games. Adding a unique layer of depth to my performance, I also interpreted the beloved song "Cielito Lindo" in Mexican Sign Language, adding a profound and culturally rich dimension to the production. This multifaceted experience not only expanded my artistic horizons but also deepened my appreciation for the rich tapestry of Mexican culture and the power of storytelling through movement and expression.
